Hello and Welcome to Nessie Kids! We are a small children's book division of wolfprintMedia, a publishing company started by author Seth Sjostrom several years ago. Our mission is to create beautiful stories with colorful and fun pictures, to share with children and the entire family.

We offer stories of Hurricane Channing, a bright and inquisitive child who loves all animals. Boots, the brilliant little dog that just wants to help people and dogs get along by understanding each other better. Our Watercolor Towns coffee table art books are designed to share the best of favorite places through the eyes of an artist who loves the uniqueness and beauty of each place we visit through artful books. 

Seth began his author journey many years ago by writing his first book, the thriller Blood in the Snow. He enjoyed it so much he just kept writing. Now he has a library of over 30 books he has published, and he is still going. 

Michele is Seth's ex-wife, and after 15 years of separation and divorce, they consider each other good friends. Raising their child, Hayden, together was a project they shared with passion, positive attitudes and success. 

Not long after Seth launched his first children’s book, Michele shared her artistic view. When he wrote the first Hurricane Channing book, he asked if he would illustrate it. With their first grandchild as the playful muse for the main character, the idea to collaborate was well-received. As an oil-to-canvas artist, Michele was determined to paint all 47 pages on canvas, which she did. An art project that took a year and filled Michele’s walls with vignettes from the story.  

The endearing story of two exes working together as friends and business partners was born. As Seth kept churning out stories, Michele was both excited and overwhelmed by how she could keep up with the artwork. About 6 months into the paintings of the original project, Michele received a package. She was delighted to receive a brand new iPad. Attached to it was a note from Seth that said “figure it out!” And she did! She began turning her artistic mind’s eye from canvas to hand-drawn digital art. 

Hurricane Channing and the Christmas Puppy (originally known as The Puppy Whisperer) was finished within the year, and Michele set out to learn everything she could about digital drawing. Not because she really wanted to draw digitally, she was delightfully old school.  But because she knew that if she could figure it out, a series of Hurricane Channing’s antics could be unleashed for the world to enjoy. 

Fast forward, Seth and Michele have completed many books together and still have a huge list of beautiful ideas to complete.  The publishing company has grown, with more books on the horizon. 

The experience gave Michele the confidence to create her own stories of Boots the Dog, and all the situations he finds himself in. Writing and illustrating her own books has been a happy surprise and challenge to her, and she enjoys it as much as sitting down to paint on canvas. 

The best and most important collaboration of all, has been Hayden Sjostrom. He and his father are currently creating some amazing stories together, the first of which will be launched in time for Halloween 2025. Adding to the library of children’s books already completed and selling now. Hayden Michele, in Nessie Kids to help with events marketing, along with a line of Nessie swag, toys and keepsakes.

As a team, we are rocking this! We have a unique story, and we love it. We know not every separated family can get along, but we managed to, and maybe we can give hope that with patience, caring, understanding and love for their children, others can see it is possible to be happy together after divorce. We are ready to share more and hope we can bring smiles and love to everyone who enjoys our books.
